Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, is urging local groups and charities to apply for funds through Active Communities.
Active Communities is a funding programme that is run by the People’s Health Trust, an independent charity that funds local groups and charities with great ideas to create fairer places to grow, live, work and age.
People’s Health Trust distributes funds raised by HealthFair, through The Health Lottery. Its Active Communities programme, which opened earlier this month, offers grants of between £5000 and £50000.
On the program: “We are extremely lucky to have so many volunteers in the area who work, tirelessly, for the benefit of others. But, while these people may, selflessly, ask for nothing in return for their time and effort, these wonderful organisations are still not free to run.
“I cannot praise enough programmes such as Active Communities, which help provide much need funds to these worthy groups and charities. Furthermore, I would urge organisations in South Staffordshire to apply for funds ahead of the deadline in the New Year.”
Organisations are able to obtain more information about the programme and to apply for funding via the following link: www.peopleshealthtrust.org.
The programme closes for applications on Monday 13 January 2014 at 12pm.
