Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire met local business owners in Perton to discuss key issues facing the driver training industry
Last week Gavin Williamson met the owner of the Claregate family-run business Billy Thomas and his family in Perton.
HGV Driver Training, established 25 years ago, offers driver training for larger category vehicles, such as trailer towing, lorries and buses. They have also expanded their business model to include private hire travel services suitable for transfers to airports, seaports and local events.
Billy Thomas said: “We had a very good meeting, super productive and now we can get cracking.”
Gavin said: “Always a pleasure to visit family-run companies and see how they are coping with present challenges and adapting to meet current demands. Small businesses are the future of our local economy and now more than ever we need to support them.”
