Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire is continuing to fight a campagin to stop car boot sales causing misery for local residents. Sadly many car boot sales in the villages of Essington, Featherstone, Saredon, Shareshill, and Himley have been causing chaos and misery for local residents as all the cars parked in the area leave residents locked in their homes and customers unable to reach local businesses.
Gavin Williamson MP has been involved in meetings with the Police, the District Council and the Parish and County Councils to coordinate a combined response to tackle this problem which is inconveniencing local people when the large tailbacks leave many imprisoned in their own homes.
Commenting on this Gavin Williamson MP said:
'The Organisers of these Car Boot Sales have got to realise that they have a responsibility to the people who live in close proximity to the sales. The blasé attitude that they have at the moment cannot continue and controls have to be introduced. I very much hope that a co-ordinated response is going to help encourage responsible behaviour and I hope that next year these villages will not be blighted by the total chaos that these events put together by irresponsible operators seem to bring with them.'
