Gavin Williamson MP was delighted to join staff and pupils of Landywood Primary School at Landywood Lane Snooker Club to take the walk to Landywood School this morning. After the walk he spent time at the school with staff and pupils to hear all about the fantastic work that goes on there. The walking bus is a new scheme designed to ensure that children can travel to school safely in a group. It is a great way to stay healthy and it eases congestion on the route to school.
Commenting on his visit Gavin Williamson MP said:
'It was really good to be able to accompany the children on their walking bus to school. Schemes like this make you realise the importance and benefits that come from encouraging children to walk to school. The walking bus is a great idea and it was fantastic to take the opportunity to encourage the children to keep the good work up. It was great to spend time at Landywood to meet with teachers and pupils today'.
