Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has condemned the disruption to local residents caused by vehicles of contractors working on the development of the sheltered accommodation on Planks Lane, Wombourne.
Local residents have contacted Gavin, angered by the considerable disruption that the vehicles of those working at the construction site are causing to the roads.
Residents have commented that vans and lorries are parked on the chevron area, either side of the zebra crossing, make it very difficult to establish whether there is oncoming traffic putting pedestrians at significant risk.
Gavin has called on the Chief Executives of Willmott Dixon and Shire Living to urge them to liaise with site managers to see to it that contractors are not inconveniencing residents.
Gavin said: “I have been contacted by residents who are worried that the construction is causing considerable disruption to those living locally and I would be grateful if the site managers could see that contractors working on the sire are not inconveniencing residents and putting them at risk. This is especially worrying during the school run period when many children use the zebra crossing.
“I have called on the Chief Executives of Willmott Dixon and Shire Living to ensure this will not continue and I am confident that a resolution to this will soon be found.”
