Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, welcomes the announcement that an agreement has been reached to transfer land for a new village green, in Brinsford.
Gavin has been campaigning on this in recent months and called on the Prisons Minister, Andrew Selous MP, to ask if the land could be transferred from the control of the Ministry of Justice in order to create a new village green. The area, approximately 1.5 acres in size, is in the process of being transferred to Featherstone and Brinsford Parish Council.
The Prisons Minister also confirmed that the Ministry of Justice intends to issue a licence for an additional plot of land close to New Road, will be also is intended to be available for temporary use as a sports pitch/play area.
Gavin said: āIām delighted that the Ministry of Justice is in the process of transferring the land to the Parish Council so it can be utilised as a village green.
