Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has raised concerns about the condition of the pathway leading from Westfield Primary School to Planks Lane, Wombourne.
Gavin has written to the local authorities, urging them to address the issue, after being contacted by local residents who became concerned about the state of the footpath.
Local residents raised concerns that the pathway, leading from Planks Lane to Westfield Primary School, has become dangerously overgrown.
The footpath has become overrun with nettles which are a potential hazard to young children and mothers with pushchairs using it to access the school.
Gavin said: “I have highlighted the issue of the pathway close to Westfield Primary School with the Council, who have assured me that they would ask the local officer to list the footpath as a site of action.
“Being close to a Primary School the pathway may be used by small children and it is extremely important that it is maintained properly so that pupils can walk safely to and from school.”
