Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has secured funding for building repairs to St. Chad’s First School, in Pattingham.
Gavin wrote to the Council, earlier this year, to urge it to finance the necessary work to the roof and windows of the school.
Following this letter, the Council confirmed that these works had been included within the Schools Capital Programme for 2014/15, which is due to receive final approval shortly from the Cabinet Member for Education & Skills.
On the funding, Gavin said: “I am delighted that St. Chad’s First School will receive the necessary funding to carry out building repairs to its roof and windows.
“I hope this will go a long way towards ensuring that we have the very best of facilities at this excellent school, which consistently achieves a huge amount for its pupils and is extremely well regarded throughout Pattingham.”
St Chad's Church of England (VC) First School and Nursery is an award winning, co-educational, village school primarily serving the village of Pattingham and its surrounding area in South Staffordshire.
The school, which was rated as a good school with many outstanding features by Ofsted, in 2010, aims to provide an ‘education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice’. With this goal in mind, it maintains strong links with St. Chad's Church, the village and the wider community.
