MP for South Staffordshire, Gavin Williamson, has welcomed a move by Staffordshire County Council to reduce the cost of home to school transport for children in Perton attending Codsall High School.  South Staffordshire County Council are looking to make use of the Staffordshire Youth Card so that children will be able to travel from Perton to Codsall High School for £380 a year - £120 less than the current charge per pupil.

Commenting on this, Gavin Williamson said:

‘I welcome the Council’s announcement as £120 is a considerable saving and I urge them to pursue this matter immediately so that the proposed system can be functioning by September next year. However, I agree with local campaigners who believe that free transport from Perton is long overdue and I will therefore continue to campaign for this measure’.
