Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has called for traffic calming measures to be implemented in Gospel End village.
Gavin wrote to the Council, urging action, after a number of local residents raised concerns with him about speeding traffic through the 30mph zone.
Many drivers on Wodehouse Lane, which has a 60mph speed limit, fail to slow down as the road feeds into the village.
Heavy traffic in the Gospel End has also increased considerably following the recent demolition and ongoing building work at the Baggeridge Brickworks site.
Gavin said: “I sincerely hope that the Council is prepared to listen to residents’ concerns and considers instigating traffic calming measures in the village.
“Residents shouldn’t have to fear for their safety when walking in the village. Action needs to be taken now to safeguard local people, before it is too late.”
