Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, met today with the directors of Kinver Brewery to celebrate its Kinver Edge being stocked at the Strangers Bar, in Parliament.
Gavin arranged for the five casks of the beer to be stocked at the bar, after sampling a selection of beers from the local brewery in June, last year.
His favourite beer on the day was Kinver Edge, a traditional English bitter named after a local beauty spot owned by the National Trust.
Gavin said: “It was incredibly difficult to pick just one favourite, as all the beers that I had the opportunity to sample tasted incredible. However, on the day I felt that the Kinver Edge had, no pun intended, a slight edge over the other beers.
“I am delighted that Kinver Edge is now stocked by the Strangers Bar, in Parliament. It is great to have a South Staffordshire beverage being sold right here, in Westminster.”
The Kinver Brewery Company is an award winning independent brewery based in the picturesque village of Kinver, South Staffordshire.
The brewery uses traditional floor malted Maris Otter barley and hops from a wide range of sources including Worcestershire, America, Czech Rebublic and Germany.
This latest accolade follows the brewery’s 7.5 percent beer Over the Edge being awarded gold in the barley wine category of the National Winter Ales Festival, in Derby.
