Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has welcomed the news of Sainsbury’s working with Wombourne Job Club after a visit to meet volunteers and job seekers earlier this year has resulted in 15 jobs being provided.
Gavin thanked Sainsbury’s after hearing of their visit to the work club in Wombourne resulting in the Sainsbury’s store in the village to offer a number of positions to job seekers.
South Staffordshire currently has 8 Work Clubs that have been setup across the area, to support the local unemployed. The clubs work together in order to share expertise and are supported by qualified Career Coach and by Councillors, Housing Association Officers and volunteers who have a background in employability and training.
Commenting on the news Gavin said: “I think it is brilliant that big companies such as Sainsbury’s are going to work clubs in the area providing local jobs to local residents. The work clubs right across South Staffordshire do absolutely brilliant work encouraging those who are seeking employment to get back into work. They provide invaluable support whether it be looking over a CV or helping with interview skills. I’d like to say a huge thank you to those who give up their time to volunteer to help people build their confidence and get back into work.”
