Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, is warning Bilbrook residents to remain vigilant following a recent burglary and three thefts in the local area.
The house burglary took place in Lane Green Road, yesterday. The offender gained entry by smashing a small pane of glass in the front door, through which he opened the latch. Jewellery, cash and a Playstation were amongst the items stolen.
At around 2.30pm, a male was seen to enter the front door of the address. The male has been described as white, aged in his early 20s with short brown coloured hair and wearing a dark coloured ¾ length coat.
Overnight, between Sunday 16th and Monday 17th March, there were also three thefts from cars in Chapel Lane. Number plates were also stolen from a car in Chillington Drive.
Gavin said: “Everyone should remain extra vigilant and keep all their doors and windows secure. Be sure to report anything suspicious to the police immediately.
“This illegal activity is completely unforgivable and needs to be punished. It is totally unacceptable that we are made to feel unsafe in our own homes. I know the police will do everything they can to catch this criminal and I would urge the authorities to act with the full force of the law to prevent such an incident from occurring again.”
