Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, turned on Kinver’s Christmas lights, including the illumination of the village’s Big Tree, on Friday 29th November.
The annual event, which is organised by Kinver Country Fayres, is held to celebrate the start of the festive season.
Highlights included a Rotary Sleigh with Santa Claus, live music by the Kinfayre Singers and a specialist food market, as well as competitions to guess how many lights were on the Big Tree and ‘Spot the Odd One Out’ in shop windows.
On the event, Gavin said: ”It was a huge honour to have been asked to turn on the Christmas lights in Kinver again, this year. You can always tell Christmas has started when the lights are turned on in Kinver and the seasonal festivities have commenced.
“I very much enjoyed being able to explore the many specialist food and drink stalls, which never fail to disappoint, and, of course, meeting the man of the hour – Santa Claus.”
