Sir Gavin Williamson recently called on the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to look over an application for a Right of Way in Bilbrook.
Sir Gavin asked Thérèse Coffey MP to consider the proposals submitted by the Friends of Bilbrook, and to provide direction to the County Council, who received the original application over a year ago. Sir Gavin has also written to the Chief Executive of Staffordshire County Council, stressing the importance of this footpath to the local community and lending his support to the residents’ application.
Sir Gavin said: “The application for a Right of Way, submitted by the Friends of Bilbrook, reflects the high value placed by the local community on this well-established footpath. So many residents of all ages use the path for walks and spending time with their families, both of which form an important part of village life. We must ensure that we preserve and protect the footpath for future generations, and I hope both the Government and the Council take swift action to process the application.”
