Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has called for action to be taken following a fresh incident at HMP Oakwood.
Prisoners have staged a second demonstration today on the roof of Oakwood Prison. Six prisoners were involved the protest, which took place at 11.30am.
This latest disturbance follows a similar incident, involving three prisoners, that took place in October.
Gavin said: “Action needs to be taken urgently to resolve this matter. I will be speaking to the relevant authorities about how they can ensure that such an incident does not occur again in the future and to see that any security concerns are adequately addressed. There are obviously a number of issues here that need to be dealt with.”
