Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire was made an honorary member of Sedgley and Wombourne Rotary Club at Monmore Green Greyhound Racing track.
This is the first time that the club has held their meeting away from their usual meeting place, in order to present Gavin with his honorary membership.
Gavin was presented with his honorary certificate of his membership by Senior Vice President Ken Thomas. The second race at the Greyhound track was named in honour of the club, with Gavin presenting the award to the winner.
The Club was formed in 1969 as a Daughter Club of the Rotary Club of Dudley and celebrated its 40th Anniversary on 30 April 2009.The Club meets every Thursday at 6.30pm at the Kingfisher, Wall Heath, Kingswinford.
John Pike, member of the Rotary Club said: “It was very special to have Gavin come and receive his certificate at Monmore Green. It is the first time that we have held a meeting away from our usual meeting place, to honour Gavin with his membership of Sedgley and Wombourne Rotary Club.”
