Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited St Benedict’s Biscop Church on Friday for their Christmas Concert.
Special guests in attendance included Bishop Clive Gregory, Revd. Edward Lewis, Chaplain to Her Majesty the Queen, Wombourne Parish Council Chairman Cllr. Mary Bond and Revd. Jeanette Hartwell, Vicar of Trysull.
Performers included choirs from local churches, Soprano Elizabeth Adams, Baritone Byron Jackson, Trysull Handbell Ringers and Trumpeters from Birmingham Conservatoire.
Gavin presented Christmas gifts as a thank you to the children who performed in the concert and said a few words of thanks to all involved.
Gavin said: “I had a wonderful time at the Christmas Concert at St Benedict’s Church in Wombourne. The standard of music was exceptional, which made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. The range of performers just proved how much the church is at the centre of the community, providing support to the people of Wombourne, especially during this festive season.”
