This week the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt. Hon. George Osborne MP congratulated aircraft components manufacturer MOOG, based in Bilbrook, on their decision to invest in new facilities on the i54 industrial estate.
During Treasury Questions Gavin Williamson MP asked the Chancellor if he would welcome MOOG’s decision to remain in South Staffordshire thus saving 400 jobs for the local area. Gavin has worked hard to help secure funding of up to £6 million to support the business.
Responding to Gavin, George Osborne said: ‘My hon. Friend makes an excellent point. I join him in congratulating the company on its announcement. Under the last Labour Government the share of the economy taken by manufacturing halved; under this Government we are seeing a manufacturing revival.’
