Today Gavin Williamson MP joined residents of St. Benedict Biscop parish in Wombourne to help with their Sponsored Bible Reading to raise money to save the lighting in the chancellery.

Gavin Questions the Business Secretary on Deregulation

Today Gavin Williamson MP questioned Vince Cable MP, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills on the deregulation of business. Gavin pointed out the problems that British industry faces when dealing with increased regulation especially regulation from the EU regarding environmental standards.

Gavin questions the Justice Secretary on Featherstone 2

Today the Government announced the results of the prisons competition. The Secretary of State for Justice, Kenneth Clarke MP, announcemed to the House of Commons that Featherstone 2 will be run by G4S Plc. Gavin Williamson MP took the opportunity to question the Justice Secretary about training opportunities for prison staff in the future.

Gavin Supports Highgate Commons and “Natural Heritage Pledge”

Gavin Williamson MP pledged to ‘value our natural heritage’ this week after meeting local nature conservation organisation Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) at the House of Commons.  The event was held to highlight the value of funding nature and its recovery.  It showcased a number of Wildlife Trust projects funded by HLF around the UK. One of these is Highgate Common in South Staffordshire.

Foreign and Commonwealth Minster, Alistair Burt MP, has congratulated students at St Dominic’s School after they raised the plight of the Dalit people with their MP when he was visiting the school in Brewood.

MP helps with Wombourne Tidy Up

Gavin and Councillors launch bid to save Police Station in Wombourne

On Saturday 12th February Gavin Williamson MP alongside local residents and Councillors launched a bid to keep a police presence in Wombourne.  As part of the campaign to maintain a Police Station in Wombourne to support the village and surrounding areas Gavin was out around the village on Saturday afternoon collecting signatures for his petition.

Gavin calls for Bridges Clean Up

South Staffordshire MP Gavin Williamson today called on British Waterways to clear up some of the graffiti that is destroying some of the historic canal bridges on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal in Wombourne.
