Gavin Williamson MP was delighted to welcome Mark Prisk MP, Minister for Business at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to South Staffordshire as part of his two day tour of the West Midlands. Gavin Williamson MP accompanied the Minister on his visit to the MOOG factory in Bilbrook.
The Minister was in the West Midlands to talk about strategies for growth in the area with as many partnerships as possible. The meetings are aimed at creating jobs and helping to stimulate growth and to discuss the challenges which local businesses are facing. The meetings also helped to inform the approach that the government will take when working with LEPs and supporting small and large businesses.
Gavin Williamson MP was delighted to hear that the Business Minister found the meetings and discussions extremely valuable. Mr Prisk also mentioned that the manufacturing businesses have been leading the way in grasping opportunities to innovate, export and grow as the economy recovers. He also mentioned that he was keen to learn about the different and innovative approaches that businesses are taking.

'It was fantastic to welcome Mark Prisk to South Staffordshire as he has been so involved in securing so many jobs within the area. It is a great pleasure to be able to work alongside the Minister as we hope to secure investment for the i54 site. It was also great to see the work that MOOG are doing, they are investing millions of pounds into ensuring a continuing vibrant manufacturing sector in this area for the long term and it was great to be able to show this to the Minister.
