Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire visited Highgate Common on 26th July to find out more about what the Trust has achieved on the reserve. Gavin was given a tour of the site by warden Phil Playford and Trust Chief Executive Guy Corbett Marshall before joining volunteers and warden Hannah Dalton and getting stuck into some 'bracken bashing'.
Commenting on his visit Gavin said:
'The work that is being done by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust on Highgate Common is fantastic. This great work is very dependant on volunteers and it was really good to be able to go out with them and see the massive difference that they are making to the Common for local people to enjoy and wildlife to thrive. I would encourage anyone with a bit of spare time to get involved.'
