Gavin Williamson MP’s was delighted to be able to attend the Great Wyrley Local Historical Society Open Day on 17th June which saw many local history societies come together for the day. At the event Gavin was able to meet the volunteers who have made this incredibly successful event come together. There were many local history societies present from many of the local neighbouring areas including Black Country Memories, Cheslyn Hay & District Local History Society, Bridgtown History Society, Burntwood History Society, etc.
Commenting on this Gavin Williamson MP said:
‘It was fantastic to come along and learn so much about the local area. I have always believed that it is so important to preserve this history as it should be what informs the development of Great Wyrley and the surrounding areas in the future. It is fascinating to witness the change of the last 50 years and see how the communities have adapted.’
