Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Westfield Primary School in Wombourne.
Gavin met with the new headteacher, Emma Lote, and was given a tour of the school and saw the excellent facilities that they have. Gavin also led an assembly, where he was given the opportunity to lead a question and answer session with the children. He also launched the Christmas card competition, which is an annual competition for children to draw and design the front of Gavin’s Christmas card.
Speaking about the visit, Gavin said ‘’I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Westfield Primary School. It was a pleasure to meet the new headmistress, Emma Lote, and I really enjoyed being shown around the school. The children asked some very interesting questions during the assembly and I am very much looking forward to seeing all the designs that they send in for the Christmas card competition. It is always so difficult to choose the winning design, but I just wanted to say good luck to all the children who enter. I also want to thank the school for taking the time to allow me to visit.’’
