Sir Gavin Williamson visited a slimming world class at Walton Community Centre in Stone to hear from members as to how the group has changed their lives and benefitted their health in many ways.
Dozens of members from across Staffordshire attend the class each week which is run by Kay who has many years of experience in helping people to achieve their targets. Members spoke of their incredible weight loss journey’s and how this has helped reverse medical conditions including diabetes.
Attendees also discussed how the group has helped to combat loneliness, meet new people, and socialise in a relaxed environment.
Slimming World was founded by Margaret Miles-Bramwell in 1969 and focusses on developing practical support to meet members’ tailored needs by promoting confidence to help them achieve their individual targets.
