Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust at Highgate Common.
Staffordshire Wildlife Trust carries out conservation projects in the area to protect the environment and local wildlife. Gavin met them to discuss the important work that they have been doing recently, and heard about some of the recent issues they have been facing. Highgate Common is a Staffordshire Wildlife Trust reserve which covers over 300 acres and is home to a wide variety of animals and plants.
Speaking about the visit, Gavin said ‘’I was so pleased to be able to meet with the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, especially in such a beautiful location. They do so much important work in the local community for our environment and our land and it was really interesting hearing about what they have been focused on recently. Looking after our local wildlife is so important and I am so pleased that we are lucky enough to have such a hardworking group of people at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust.’’
