Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire visited the Mount Pleasant pub, Ounsdale Road, Wombourne after its recent refurbishment.
National pub operator, Punch, has invested £163,000 in the Mount Pleasant pub in Wolverhampton transforming the interior and creating a number of new jobs in the area.
The refurbishment included a complete redecoration inside and out with quality lighting, wall and floor finishes, new and reupholstered furniture and a remodelled kitchen. The beer garden has been given a makeover and the car park has been repaired and relined.
The new-look Mount Pleasant pub also has a new publican at the helm. Nicola Williams has called time on her career in the motor industry to fulfil her dream of running her own pub. Nicola said: “I’ve worked in pubs in the past and always wanted to run my own. Now that my family has grown up I feel that it’s the right time to turn my dream into reality. I’m nervous but very excited about my new challenge and determined to give it my best shot.
“We want everyone to feel welcome at The Mount Pleasant, whether they want a coffee, a pint or a family meal. The pub didn’t serve food before but we now have a great new kitchen and have introduced a menu with daily offers such as; Children eat for £1 on Mondays with any adult main course, burger nights, grill nights etc with a free drink, Saturday date night’ steak and wine’ offer and traditional Sunday lunch - all complemented by a wide range of drinks including cask ales and quality wines.
“In terms of entertainment, we will be organising regular live music including bands and solo artists and will be introducing quiz and bingo nights and family fun days to make the most of our great beer garden. I’d like to thank everyone for their warm welcome and I look forward to getting to know customers old and new over the coming months.”
