Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Essington Farm at the weekend after their recent refurbishment.
Gavin met and spoke with owners of the farm, the Simkin family, who have farmed in Essington for over 110 years. They grow their own fruit and vegetables which are used in their café and are sold in the farm shop.
After a recent rebranding and refurbishment Gavin had a tour of the Farm’s new facilities. The Farm has a new staffroom, larger stock room, new offices and a bigger restaurant in time for a busy programme of Christmas activities which include a Christmas Afternoon Tea and Afternoon Tea with Santa. Gavin also had the opportunity to meet Father Christmas who had dropped in to take part in the viewing of the new offices.
Commenting on his visit: “I had a brilliant visit to Essington Farm and see their new facilities and sample their fantastic homemade cheesecake. The Farm is such an impressive local business and it was great to be able to support it on Small Business Saturday. I have no doubt that their brilliant new refurbishments will only cause the business to go from strength to strength.
“It was also an honour to see that Father Christmas had managed to spare some time to drop by and I was glad to see that he had given the new offices his seal of approval.”
Many thanks to Tim Thursfield from the Express and Star for the use of their photographs.
