Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, argues that changes will have a negative effect on constituents
Following the County Council’s decision to remove support for several bus routes, a number of residents have been in touch with Gavin to highlight their concerns.
Alongside removing all support for the South Staffs Connect service, the County Council will no longer be funding a number of vital services across the constituency. This leaves many residents with no access to public transport on a Sunday which is very problematic for weekend workers.
Commenting on the changes, Gavin said: “I was alarmed to hear that the County Council has made a number of changes to vital bus services across the constituency. Alongside removing all support for the South Staffs Connect service, changes have also been made to bus timetables which means some constituents do not have any access to a Sunday service.
I have created a petition in response to this which I encourage you to sign. I will present your signatures to the Chief Executive of the County Council with the hope that these changes will be reversed.
