Gavin Williamson, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for South Staffordshire, attended the St George’s Day parade over the weekend in Great Wyrley.
Gavin took part in the annual parade which included St George riding through the streets of Great Wyrley on his horse, followed by a Garden Party in the grounds of Harrisons Sports and Social Club. There was a large variety of stalls on offer at the Garden Party with all proceeds made donated to the Poppy Appeal. Gavin had his own stall at the Garden Party, addressing any concerns or issues from constituents.
Gavin said: “It was fantastic to see so many people out in Great Wyrley this weekend, despite the dismal weather, to support the annual St George’s Day Parade. I had a wonderful time taking part in the walk and you could see how many residents support this important community event. I thoroughly enjoyed myself at the Garden Party afterwards, even getting to meet St George himself. I hope that there was a lot of money raised for a very worthy cause, the Poppy Appeal.”
