Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited the new Excalibur Factory on Barton Industrial Estate, Bilston last week.
Gavin has previously visited the company to inspect their ultrasonic cleaning equipment involved in refurbishments that the business invested in as a result of support from investment from the Regional Growth Fund and the Green Shoots Plus Fund, which has provided funding for businesses across the West Midlands, to create 400 jobs with a £4.3 million fund, which is backed by the Express & Star.
Gavin toured the factory and spoke to employees at the company, learning about the remanufacturing of a machine and asked about the intense process that a machine will go through to be made fit for use once again. After his tour Gavin cut the ribbon, officially opening the new factory and took part in a blessing ceremony which was led by a chaplain from the Christian Churches in the Black Country group.
In addition to their new factory, Excalibur also have further plans to develop a showroom and meeting rooms which would be available for those in the vending machine industry to utilise.
Excalibur Manufacturing Solutions was started in 2003 by owner and managing director Richard Gilbert. The small business has adopted a process of remanufacturing which involves as little incursion on the environment as possible and seeks to demonstrate as much sustainability as much as they can.
Speaking after his visit Gavin said: “I thoroughly enjoyed returning to visit Excalibur at their new premises. They do such great work refurbishing vending machines and I wouldn’t have known the difference between one that had been refurbished and a brand new machine. It is great to see businesses like this expanding and being so successful in the West Midlands. I look forward to returning in the future to see their further development plans come into fruition.”
