Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, joined young people at Codsall High School to see how they are benefiting from the National Citizen Service (NCS)
The NCS is an organisation dedicated to improving the skills and confidence of young people, as well as encouraging them to volunteer and make an impact within their local community. With over 200,000 members nationally, the organisation has seen thousands of young people learn new skills which has helped further their education, as well as their career prospects.
Gavin visited the local branch, based at Codsall High School, to see the work young people have been doing since enrolling and he was highly impressed with what he saw.
Commenting on the visit, Gavin said: "I really enjoyed meeting young people from Codsall who are participating in the National Citizen Service (NCS) and making a difference in the local community.
It's fantastic to see the valuable work of NCS being supported at Codsall High School, helping local young people further their education outside of the classroom, as well as giving them the opportunity to make new friends and develop essential life skills. I am really looking forward to seeing the results of all their hard work and I look forward to visiting again in the near future".
