Gavin meets Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Leadership Team

Sir Gavin Williamson met with the Leadership Team at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust alongside Parliamentary colleagues who represent Wolverhampton.

The Trust has recently launched its new strategy ‘Transforming Care Together’ which will strengthen community services, develop neighbourhood teams, expand elective capacity, and improve access to diagnostics.

Discussions also focussed on maternity care following the Ockenden Review which highlighted significant concerns regarding the safety and care of women and babies in Nottingham maternity units.

Sir Gavin also used the opportunity to raise casework on behalf of constituents, as well as to discuss issues including public transport to hospital appointments, and parking when attending the hospital.

Jo Chadwick-Bell, the Chief Executive of Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust said: “We very much welcomed the opportunity to hold one of our regular MP stakeholder meetings.

“Our Transforming Care Together Partnership will ensure that by 2031 patients experience faster access to care in their communities, staff will work in a digitally enabled and supportive environment, and our organisations are fit for the future.”

Sir Gavin said: “I very much welcomed the opportunity to meet with leaders at Royal Wolverhampton NNHS Trust to discuss clinical services and other departmental matters that are essential to the wellbeing of all patients.

“These meetings are vital to enable MP’s to raise issues that affect their constituents ranging from individual casework, parking, and general appointment waiting times.

“I will continue to monitor developments closely, and ensure that Staffordshire residents receive the best possible care when they visit New Cross or Walsall Manor Hospital.”
