Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Living in Loveliness in Essington last weekend.
Gavin observed a range of crafting activities before joining other crafters in learning to weave. The shop is looking forward to welcoming the Walsall handspinners and weavers for a workshop next month on 2nd April.
Due to the popularity of the shop, Living in Loveliness relocated to St. John's Hall in Essington last year and have continued to successfully run craft workshops and bespoke craft service where they also stock the products of local crafters.
The shop also offers a platform for crafters from the local area to sell their products, bringing people together in a relaxed environment whilst promoting the art of crafting to their growing customer base of all ages.
There is also the opportunity for people who are who new to the art of crafting to learn a new skill under the guide of those who have been crafting for years. Heritage craft days take place on the first Saturday of each month which celebrates the cultural heritage of crafting.
Commenting on the event Gavin said: “I was so glad to be invited back to Living in Loveliness and learning how to weave. Although I do not see a career in crafting in the future, it is fantastic to see how popular the business has become and this is excellent environment for those who wish to learn more about the skill of crafting to come together and enjoy an afternoon together.”
Living in Loveliness is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 till 5pm, Tuesday from 9-3pm and Saturday from 10-5pm.
