Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, is encouraging local organisations to apply for a People’s Health Trust Active Community Grant to improve the lives of those living in South Staffordshire.
The Trust provides grants to local organizations that have great ideas on how to make their communities better places to live. Community groups or not-for-profit organizations, with a yearly income of less than £350,000, are eligible to apply. These grants are funded by money raise by Healthfair society. Active Community has opened branches in Staffordshire, Shropshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Telford and Wrekin.
The Trust was set up to address health inequalities in Great Britain and create fairer places in which to grow, live, work and age. Through their funding and support, they encourage resident-focused approaches as a means of addressing the underlying structural causes of health inequalities.
Commenting on Active Community Gavin said “The People’s Health Trust is a great organisation that gives local community groups a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference in the daily lives of those living in South Staffordshire. We have so many wonderful local community groups right across South Staffordshire and I would encourage all local groups within the constituency to apply for this grant.”
