Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, welcomes the action that Staffordshire County Council has taken in filling in dangerous potholes on Barnhurst and Pendeford Mill Lane.
Both roads are a main thoroughfare for many people living in South Staffordshire and the state of the road in recent weeks was unacceptable.
In response to residents’ concerns about the road, Gavin called on the Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Helen Fisher, urging the council to fix the surface as soon as possible.
This week the Highways department temporarily closed the road and filled in potholes, to the relief of the road users.
Commenting on this, Gavin said: “It is great to see that the council are responding to residents’ concerns, but there are still many roads across South Staffordshire such as Junction 1 M54 that are in desperate need of repair. I have and will continue to make sure the council are aware of any problems”.
