Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire and Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Motor Neurone Disease (MND), co-hosted a screening of ‘I Am Breathing’ in Parliament, last week, with the Baroness Royall.
The screening was organised by the Motor Neurone Disease Association to help increase awareness about the incurable disease.
The bittersweet film tells the story of Neil Platt, a young father who found out he was dying from motor neurone disease just months after the birth of his son Oscar.
In his last few months, even as he said goodbye to his wife and child, Neil selflessly sought to raise awareness of MND for the benefit of future generations.
On the event, Gavin said: “I Am Breathing’ was extremely moving and reminded me again of how strong the human spirit really is. Neil was an incredible man and he will live on forever for everyone who watches this film.”
