Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has welcomed new funding for football clubs across his constituency.
Six grants of £11,000 have been paid to clubs to ensure their football pitches can be maintained before the new season kicks off. All Saturday and Sunday league football were cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The Football Foundation, who works closely with the Premier League, the FA and the Government have been able to assists clubs across South Staffordshire. Gavin has been working closely with the Pitch Preparation Fund to ensure football clubs can return to action when the 2020/2021 starts.
Speaking on the funding, Gavin said: “I’m delighted that football clubs across South Staffordshire are going to benefit from this new funding and it is important that they’re supported during this difficult time”.
