Sir Gavin Williamson attended both days of the Staffordshire Show as he celebrated the County’s strong agriculture links and the vast array of independent businesses.
The Staffordshire Show has been running for over 200 years providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy competition, entertainment, food, independent businesses and so much more.
The 100 acre site also has a main ring which featured excellent attractions including the popular Bolddog Lings motorcycle display team.
Elsewhere, visitors had the opportunity to explore the craft fair which included gifts such as candles, textiles, mosaics and antiques. Local produce could be found at the food hall which had a vast array of local products on sale, whilst wooded areas provide an idyllic and tranquil place to walk.
Sir Gavin said: “I was thrilled to visit the Staffordshire Show on both days – it is always an eagerly anticipated date in my calendar.
“It was wonderful to see so many fantastic businesses showcasing their innovative products, and the spectacular entertainment provided fun for all the family.
“I also welcomed the opportunity to meet with farmers and representatives from the NFU. Labour’s damaging Family Farms tax continues to destroy the livelihoods of farmers and the viability of their farms, not to mention the impact on food security and livestock.
“I will continue to work tirelessly to support farmers and I continue to urge the Government to row back on their destructive policies.”
