Local Historical Society Open Day

Gavin Williamson MP’s was delighted to be able to attend the Great Wyrley Local Historical Society Open Day on 17th June which saw many local history societies come together for the day. 

Reinstate Julie

Today Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, called for action to be taken to reinstate Julie Roberts the Post Delivery Lady who has recently been suspended by Royal Mail.  Julie had her van stolen but through her efforts stopped the van from being taken.  This involved her holding onto the bonnet for over a mile until the vehicle stopped and she was able to reclaim the vehicle.  Unfortunately instead of rewarding her the Royal Mail suspended her from her work and she remains at home awaiting a decision as to whether she will be allowed back to the position that she has held for 20 years.  

MP tackles congestion in Perton

Gavin Williamson MP today wrote to County Councillor Mike Maryon to raise concerns that constituents have bought to his attention regarding the congestion that is caused when cars are unable to turn off Jenny Walkers Lane and Wrottesly Road.

Gavin Williamson, Member of Parliament for South Staffordshire, has written to Jean Martyn to wish her the best of luck for Saturday’s Britain’s Got Talent Final.  Jean Martyn, who lives in Brewood, was voted through to the final of Britain’s Got Talent on Tuesday.

Gavin Williamson MP Says No To Incinerator

Gavin Williamson, Member of Parliament for South Staffordshire, has called on the County Council to reject proposals to build an incinerator on the Poplars Landfill Site.

Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire, helped roll out the barrel recently as part of preparations for Kinver Country Fayre which is due to be held on 19th June 2011.

MP attends Proms in the Barn to present cheque to Mercians

Gavin Williamson, Member of Parliament for South Staffordshire, recently attended Proms in the Barn at Shelfields, Lower Penn, near Wombourne.  He was pleased to present a cheque alongside Mrs Boucher, who organised the event, to the Mercian Benevolent Fund earlier today.  The Mercian Regiment’s Band played during the proms. 

MP helps Wombourne High Flyers take off

Gavin Williamson, Member of Parliament for South Staffordshire, spent Saturday afternoon at Pegausus House in Elder Grove Wombourne to help Wombourne’s High Flyers run by Sheila Baker.  The aim of High Flyers is to create respite care and services for disabled adults. 

MP supports 'Send my Friend to School' campaign

Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire was handed an unusual petition of bunting by St Dominic’s School for Girls to raise awareness of the ‘Send my Friend to School’ campaign.  This has been brought together by hundreds and thousands of pupils and tutors in the U.K. who want the Government to keep its promise that every child can go to school no matter where they live in the world.
