MP calls for Olympic Express

Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire recently wrote to Virgin Trains to ask them to ensure that residents of South Staffordshire are able to get home swiftly and safely during the Olympics.    He was delighted to recieve a positive response from Virgin Trains saying that they will look into the matter as part of their discussions with the Olympic Delivery Authority.

MP starts Kinver 10K run

Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire, started the Kinver Rotary Club 10k run on Sunday.  The event that has been running for 5 years has had the most successful year in its history with over 300 competitors taking part in the 10km run and 80 taking part in the 2km run. 

Petition presented to National Express

Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire, who has been campaigning alongside local residents of Perton, Bilbrook and Codsall against the changes that National Express have recently made to their bus routes, was delighted to join Mr Bill Pace to present a 500 name petition to National Express asking them to reconsider the changes that they have made to their bus routes. 

MP joins Walking Bus to Landywood Primary School

Gavin Williamson MP was delighted to join staff and pupils of Landywood Primary School at Landywood Lane Snooker Club to take the walk to Landywood School this morning. 

MP welcomes Jaguar and Rover to South Staffordshire

Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire was delighted to receive confirmation that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is to invest £355 million to build a new factory on the i54 business park in Bilbrook, South Staffordshire which could bring up to 2000 jobs to the area.  He welcomed the decision and is pleased that all the hard work that has gone into securing the bid has been successful. 

Gavin calls for incinerator plans to be thrown in bin

Gavin Williamson MP for South Staffordshire has called upon County Councillors on Staffordshire County Council’s planning authority to reject proposals by Biffa to build a gigantic incinerator at the Poplars Colliery Site at Cannock. 

Codsall Station Speaker Fixed

Gavin Williamson MP was delighted to hear that the new speaker system at Codsall railway station has been set at an acceptable volume.
