Gavin has secured a pledge from local authorities that Wombourne Police Station will remain open. The South Staffordshire MP started a national campaign to protect the police station after learning that the facility was being considered for closure.
Gavin, who believes that the station is vitally important for everyone who lives in Wombourne and the surrounding area, called for the Government to take all possible steps to ensure that a police presence would remain in the village. This included presenting a petition, signed by 1256 residents, to Parliament.
