Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has welcomed the announcement that a new Publican will be taking over the Vine Inn, in Kinver.
The pub, which is owned by Enterprise Inns, has been empty and under maintenance for a considerable length of time.
After constituents contacted Gavin with their concerns about the closure, he wrote to the Chief Executive of Enterprise Inns in order to request clarification on the matter and to voice residents’ desire that the premises continue as a community asset.
Enterprise Inns informed Gavin that a new Publican has been appointed and that the Inn is likely to be re-opened within the next few weeks, following the completion of the outside works and internal refurbishment.
On the matter, Gavin said: “I am delighted to hear from Enterprise Inns that a new Publican has been appointed and that the Vine Inn is set to re-open shortly.
“Our village pubs act as the primary meeting places for many local residents in South Staffordshire and I consider it incredibly important that these social hubs are protected.”
