Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, has welcomed the announcement that Jaguar Land Rover will reveal two new models using the new Ingenium engine built in their South Staffordshire Plant, in Paris today.
Gavin attended the launch of the Jaguar XE in London recently, which was the first car in the Jaguar Land Rover range to use the new Ingenium engine, manufactured at the Jaguar Land Rover factory at the i54 business park in Bilbrook.
The full line up of XE vehicles and the new Discovery Sport will be revealed at a press conference in Paris, today. The Jaguar range, including the XE Prestige and the XE Portfolio all use the new engine made in South Staffordshire
Gavin said: “It’s so exciting to see the new range of JLR cars with the engines manufactured in Bilbrook. It’s fantastic to know that a piece of South Staffordshire will be in each of these new models, contributing to our car industry becoming the second biggest in Europe.
“It’s great to see the company going from strength to strength, investing in new Research Centres and hiring more graduates and apprentices. I look forward to seeing the new models and hearing about more about their development programmes in the near future.”
