Gavin Williamson, MP for Staffordshire, attended a charity walk around Perton Parkway, yesterday.
The event was organised by Perton District – which consists of Rainbows, Brownies and Guides from Perton, Castlecroft and Pattingham - in order to raise funds for Cancer Research.
Eight groups, in total, participated in the walk. The first departed from Perton Park at 7pm and then the remaining groups set off subsequently at five minute intervals.
The local Rainbows, Brownies and Guides all dressed top to toe in pink, in honour of the occasion.
On the walk, Gavin said: “It was truly heat warming to see so many people get together in support of such an important cause. I very much enjoyed meeting the many members of our local community, who were generous enough to dedicate their time and effort towards raising funds for Cancer Research.
“Cancer is a disease that affects every age group and sector of society. We may not yet have discovered a single cure for cancer, but charities such as Cancer Research play a vital role in helping to save lives.”
