Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, recently visited local business Blakelands Country House, near Wombourne.
Owners Paul and Heather Morgan showed Gavin around their impressive Queen Anne House, which is now a beautiful wedding venue and popular restaurant. The family-run business, which has been the home to the Morgan family for the last 33 years, has been a wedding venue since 1991, holding approximately 70 weddings a year.
Owner, Paul Morgan said: “We were thrilled when Gavin said that he would like to come and visit us and were very impressed by the fact that he takes time out to visit local businesses in his constituency. It gave us the opportunity to discuss various local issues, as well as politics and business in general, and we thoroughly enjoyed his visit.”
Gavin said: “I try and visit as many local businesses as I can, as I think it is important to understand the issues relevant to them. This was the first time I had visited Blakelands and I must say I was extremely impressed.
“It was fantastic to see a business doing so well, offering such a high quality product, and attracting so many people to South Staffordshire from such a wide area. I was also really impressed that they were using so many locally sourced products and thereby supporting other local businesses in the area.”
