Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire will visit Essington and Featherstone Tae Kwon-Do Club at Essington Wood Methodist Church on Monday 16th February at 7.30pm, to learn more about the martial art.
The family run club aims to enable people from all walks of life to develop skills in the Tae Kwon-Do martial art in a safe and supportive environment. The students train for a minimum of three and a half years to achieve their black belt. They have a very relaxed approach that has nurtured young people to reach their goals in and out of the club.
The club is also proud to include three generations of families that all train together. Jim Gowman is supported by his wife Jacqui and his daughters Megan and Rachel, who all train regularly and promote The Tae Kwon Do Association of Great Britain throughout the local area.
Commenting on Gavin’s upcoming visit, Jim said: “Gavin’s visit in an exciting opportunity for students to share their knowledge of Tae Kwon-Do with him and celebrate their achievements over the past year. We are looking forward to having him here and showing him what we can do.”
Gavin said: “I have previously tried out Judo, so I am excited to expand my martial arts knowledge with Tae Kwon-Do. The club is a brilliant family run facility, encouraging children of all ages to grow in confidence and take up this fantastic sport and am very much looking forward to visiting the Essington and Featherstone Tae Kwon-Do Club next week.”
