Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, is urging residents of Essington to return his Essington DX Freight Super Hub Referendum and Survey form.
Plans to build the DX Freight Super Hub in Hobnock Road, Essington would increase noise, sound and air pollution, having an impact upon the quality of life of residents in Essington. The increase in HGVs, vans and cars passing through Essington will cause traffic chaos and congestion in the village and surrounding areas.
Of 2,000 forms distributed, the number of households that have been returned, which were distributed by volunteers, currently stands at 600 and Gavin is urging more constituents to fill out the Survey so that the voice of residents can be heard loud and clear. The results will be presented to the District Council.
Commenting on the numbers of surveys returned Gavin said: “I am delighted that so many households have taken the time to fill in the combined Survey and Referendum forms against the DX Freight Super Hub that is proposed to be built in Hobnock Road, Essington.
“I would encourage all residents who haven’t done so already to fill in the referendum and survey form and return it via the freepost envelope. It is so important that we have as many responses as possible to show the Council that this development is not wanted by those who live in Essington.”
