Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, visited Kinver Probus Club to attend a lunch and give a short talk on his role as a MP and PPS.
The club, formed in 1990, counts many retired professional businessmen amongst their membership. They meet to hear talks from current professionals and are just one in a worldwide chain of clubs.
Gavin was met by the founder member of the club, Bob Davies and the Kinver Probus Club President, David Young, to talk to members about his role in politics.
Gavin said: “I really enjoyed my afternoon talking at the Probus Club last week. I had a great time meeting the members and hearing about their varied pasts working in the business sector.
“I am so glad that South Staffordshire has organisations such as Kinver Probus Club for former businessmen to meet, recall their working lives and their lives now they are retired. I would like to thank President David Young and the members of Kinver Probus Club for their warm welcome and look forward to hearing more from them in the future.”
President David Young said, “I’d like to thank Gavin very much for the talk he gave to the club last week. Our members were so impressed, many said that you wouldn’t know what to expect when you attend a talk about Parliament given by a politician, but everyone I spoke to really enjoyed the talk.”
