Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, joined small businesses in Wombourne this weekend to support Small Business Saturday.
The event, which was supported by Wombourne Parish Council and South Staffordshire Council, had a varied programme of activities to highlight Wombourne’s Small Businesses. Amongst these were a ‘Finding Rudolph Treasure Hunt’ and a fancy dress competition that took place in the Civic Centre.
The Treasure Hunt took participants through the village with clues directing people to shops and offices of local businesses, allowing residents to see the full scope of what Wombourne has to offer to shoppers, especially during the upcoming festive season.
After the event Gavin said: “It was great to see the whole community come together and support Small Business Saturday. It was such a wonderful family event which proves that we have a great selection of local businesses we have on our doorstep in Wombourne.
“It takes a lot of dedication to set up and run a small business and I am proud to see many of these on our high streets. I hope Wombourne residents will support all local small businesses, shops, pubs, and cafes leading up to Christmas.”
